An island built to bring a lost world back
JuraLand began not on a map, but in scientific calculations. An international team searched for a place where an entire lost world could be reconstructed.

One question changed everything
In 2018 paleontologists, biologists, geneticists and engineers gathered around an idea: could they reconstruct not only ancient animals, but the world around them?
Could the Mesozoic be shown not as a museum hall, but as a world that keeps living?
A skeleton reveals anatomy. A computer model shows movement. Only an ecosystem connects climate, food webs and animal behaviour.
That question became JuraLand: an isolated science and education island divided into habitats from different eras.
Choosing the site
The search took almost two years. The chosen island offered natural safety and ecological resilience.
Natural isolation
Hundreds of kilometres of ocean and one controlled maritime corridor.
Mild climate
A warm current creates humid valleys and drier plateaus.
Water and soil
Mountain lakes, underground springs and fertile volcanic soil.

Ridges, canyons and lava fields separate the future ecosystems.
