Temporary Flight Restrictions at Ptero Cliffs

A pair of Pteranodon at the chalk ledges: heightened nesting activity. System
Morning checks confirmed a notable rise in nesting activity at Ptero Cliffs. Several pairs of Pteranodon longiceps have regrouped along the southern ledges, bringing more plant and reed material for nests while juveniles practice short takeoffs and landings near prospective nesting sites.

Due to the higher nest density and the sensitivity of incubation, island management is imposing a temporary restriction on flight activity in the coastal corridor beneath the cliffs. Visitors and technical teams should expect redirected drone routes and reduced acoustic disturbance; signage and staff are guiding safe bypass zones.

The measures are expected to remain in place for several weeks and will be adjusted daily according to checks and pterosaur behaviour. The priority is to minimize stress on nesting pairs and maximise hatching success. Keepers will continue photo and video monitoring from observation points set well away from the ledges.
