Storm over Ptero Cliffs

Pteranodons huddled against storm clouds on cliff edges; dramatic winds sweep the sky. Storm
Early this morning a sudden storm moved across Ptero Cliffs: a succession of strong gusts and low cloud forced the site's status to 'active'. Cliffside nests are being tested as young and brooding individuals face intense, short-lived wind bursts.

Observers recorded shifting wind directions and increased coastal turbulence: Pteranodons tight-formed into clusters, sheltering against the ledges and reducing flight activity. The priority for caretakers is to minimise stress and prevent nest collapses or falls.

Where absolutely necessary and without disturbing natural behaviours, a few exposed nesting platforms were fitted with temporary protective netting to shield flightless chicks. Intervention is strictly limited and carried out only in zones with acute risk to survival.

Winds are forecast to ease by evening, but the 'active' status for Ptero Cliffs remains until microclimatic conditions stabilise. Monitoring systems continue to log avian responses and meteorological data for post-storm review and safety adjustments.
