Quarantine at Chalk Lagoon

Morning at Chalk Lagoon: coastal rocks, calm water and the silhouette of a young mosasaur at the shore. System
This morning observers recorded a young mosasaur at the water's edge in Chalk Lagoon. As a precaution for population health and safety, a temporary quarantine has been established for the coastal sector: non-essential bots and vehicles are restricted, and extra observation posts have been deployed.

Veterinary and keeper teams have begun remote monitoring of the animal: behavioral recordings, checks on water temperature and acoustic levels in the area. Pteranodons that have been active above the lagoon recently are currently keeping distance; observations will continue to assess potential responses from predators and fish in the local ecosystem.

The quarantine is intended to be short-term — until a baseline examination is completed and environmental parameters stabilize. Visitors should follow the marked detour signs and avoid approaching the water; staff have been issued guidelines to minimize stress on the juvenile.

The system department reminds everyone that any unscheduled approaches to the cordoned area must be coordinated with the on-duty team. Further updates on monitoring results will be provided as available.
