Panic at the Fern Edge
Incident
This morning at about 08:10 local time, migration column B-12 of Diplodocus reached the eastern edge of the Fern Forest. Track crews at the boundary spotted signs of a large predator — a Tyrannosaurus appearing to move out from Predator Ridge toward the forest fringe.
The herd reacted swiftly: several juveniles startled, prompting a short panicked run along the forest margin. Field teams responded immediately, deploying acoustic deterrents and soft diversion barriers to guide the column into a preplanned bypass corridor. These measures prevented collisions with large vegetation and dangerous falls.
The Tyrannosaurus kept its distance and did not pursue a focused attack; observers interpret the behaviour as territorial inspection rather than predation. The incident remains under active monitoring; patrols have increased presence along the boundary and remain in close contact with migration handlers.
Visitors and staff are advised to avoid the eastern Fern Forest margin until the migration clears and the situation stabilizes. Zone status remains 'observation'; no evacuations were necessary.
