Morning Mosaic Sweep
Daily report
This morning in the Valley of Giants the Diplodocus herd displayed steady, measured movement: adults alternating with juveniles, pausing at scattered low trees to feed. Tracks in the soft soil and flattened fern fronds indicate a dense but orderly presence; no signs of agitation or disruption were recorded.
Pteranodons were active above the group — their stoops and calls providing a soundtrack to the slow procession. Nesting activity on the Ptero Cliffs remains elevated, so most flights were deliberate and followed well-worn approach paths to the ledges.
A young mosasaur was observed at the edge of Chalk Lagoon, staying in shallow water and showing no interest in the diplodocids; monitoring will continue — the lagoon is calm and the shallows are suitable for juveniles.
The Incubation Centre and Predator Ridge remain on standard watch: the expected Triceratops hatching keeps teams attentive, and the nighttime regime on the Ridge reduces diurnal predator movements. Overall the morning passed without incidents, though staff note a local change in grass density at the Fern Forest boundary — possibly a small redistribution of forage for herbivores.
