At first light along the cliff edge there was a small commotion: a juvenile Pteranodon launched itself from a nest and tried its first real flight. Parents wheeled close by, voicing short alarm calls, while neighboring adults watched from a distance.
The attempt lasted just a few seconds — the youngster stayed aloft over the narrow sea strip, then caught thermal eddies and landed on a lower rock ledge. Keepers recorded behavior and position, confirming there were no falls or injuries.
