Dusk Patrol
Observation
As the sun sank and shadows lengthened across the ridge, one of the island's largest inhabitants walked the crest of Predator Ridge. Its gait was measured and deliberate; each step pressed into the loose scree and crushed fern fronds. Backlit by the dying light, the powerful neck and serrated jawline cut a near-monumental profile against the sky.
Pteranodons, noticing the giant below, lifted higher and circled, intermittently gliding down as if testing the thermals along his route. Interactions were tense but non-confrontational — the pterosaurs kept a wary distance while the tyrant seemed intent on surveying the limits of its range rather than engaging.
Control post staff logged the route and timestamps; the record has been added to the daily behavior ledger. The ridge's current 'control' status remains appropriate: large predators often increase evening activity, and documenting these patrols helps identify habitual routes and potential crossing points with neighboring zones.
Monitoring continues; animals were not disturbed and a safe distance maintained. Night duty rosters have been adjusted to ensure heightened visual observation until the patrol completes and activity returns to baseline.
