Circle of Quiet in Fern Forest
Observation
This morning at first light keepers recorded a tranquil assembly in a clearing of the Fern Forest. Several diplodocus and triceratops arranged themselves in a loose semicircle around the marked incubator area, creating a visible ring of calm and reducing overt activity.
The animals behaved peacefully: the diplodocus grazed with lowered necks while the sturdier triceratops took positions on the outer line, as if taking on an instinctive protective role. Observers noted no aggression and a repeating pattern of posture and spacing that suggested an unspoken coordination.
A pteranodon passed overhead a couple of times without causing disturbance. Keepers believe the congregation is linked to the expected hatching in the incubator: large herbivores may instinctively soften the surroundings to minimize risks to imminent hatchlings.
Staff action remains limited to remote monitoring and minimal intervention: radar and visual patrols keep distance while recording positions and behaviors for later analysis. The situation is calm for now and the field team continues cautious morning rounds.
