Calm at Chalk Lagoon
Daily report
This morning Chalk Lagoon greeted the keepers with a glassy surface and soft light. With the wind down, large herbivores were able to approach the shoreline more closely — several Diplodocus and a Triceratops made their slow way to the water.
The young mosasaur previously sighted in the lagoon returned to the shallows: its head and part of the back broke the surface as it cautiously explored the shoreline for small fish and safe spots to play. The animals on land watched with muted curiosity — distance was respected and no confrontations occurred.
A Pteranodon made a couple of low passes over the lagoon, attracted by activity at the water’s edge; its flights did not disturb the feeding giants. Keepers recorded calm but alert behaviour across species: there were no signs of predatory escalation, and conditions remained stable.
Status remains 'calm'. The monitoring team will continue shift observations of water levels and presence of juvenile marine inhabitants to adjust patrols if necessary and to inform neighbouring zones.
