On 20.08.2026 at approximately 09:00 local island time, the Fern Forest Incubator recorded the successful hatching of a Triceratops horridus. Ground staff responded to subtle vibrations and soft cracking sounds in the nest chamber; a robust hatchling soon emerged from a sturdy egg.
Initial checks were completed by the on-site team: breathing steady, reflex responses appropriate, and weight and length within expected parameters for this developmental stage. The youngster was still damp from the membranes and made tentative first steps among the soft bedding materials.
To ensure a stable transition, caretakers have kept the hatchling in the incubator’s warm observation zone for the next 48 hours to reduce stress and allow gradual acclimation.
