10 seconds: tracks by the lagoon

Just before sunrise today, an automatic camera at the Azure Lagoon recorded an unusual event. In the first frame, the wet sand beside the water was completely untouched. Ten seconds later, a trail of large three-toed footprints had appeared, leading from the dense ferns toward the water’s edge.
The animal was moving quickly and did not remain on the shore for long. Judging by the depth of the prints and the distance between them, the rangers believe it was a young, medium-sized predatory dinosaur. No marks from a dragging tail were found, suggesting that the animal held its body high and maintained its balance while moving.
Cameras in the neighbouring sectors have not yet detected where the animal went next. The lagoon area is now under increased observation, although there are currently no signs of danger to the island’s other inhabitants. The next inspection of the shore is scheduled for after sunset.
